PoHickory consists of 31.5 acres with a wide variety of natural ecosystems. Prairie, mature woodland of oak and hickory, a small pond, several wetland areas, and two intermittent streams can be found on the property. Donated by the Yntema Family in 1995 and named PoHickory after the Indian name for the hickory tree. This property has a single family dwelling which is rented. The property plays a significant part of LCLC’s restoration and education efforts due to the diverse landscapes. Surrounding land uses are single family residences on minimum one acre lots or larger.
