The majority of open lands and wetlands in Lake County have an uncertain future. These lands are
vanishing on a daily basis and with them go the trees, birds, and animals. Once open lands are
gone, there can be no return to the beautiful open spaces that historically have set this county apart
from the others in Illinois. The Land Conservancy of Lake County takes an active role in managing
and promoting the protection of natural areas and ecosystems.
A volunteer organization not only needs funds to operate, but the efforts and expertise of its
individual members. Volunteers are the reason why LCLC continues to grow and succeed. Your
time can be something as simple as attending the annual meeting or a little more demanding like
participating in a workday. If you have an idea or special talent, please let us know.
LCLC leverages land donations, conservation easements, memorial contributions and
gifts-in-kind to extend its impact. Please consider alternative ways to support LCLC.
Please help the Land Conservancy of Lake County in whatever way you can as we continue to
protect Lake County's most important land resources.
We need you! It's as simple as that.
